  • Michigan Home Help services may be available to Medicaid-eligible individuals who require assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs). Eligibility is determined by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS).

  • In many cases, individuals who are already receiving Home Help services can transition to Haven Home Care. Our team can help guide you through the process and work to make the transition as smooth as possible.

  • Approval timelines vary depending on MDHHS processing times and individual circumstances. In many cases, the process takes approximately 4–6 weeks, though some applications may be approved sooner or require additional time.

  • Many caregivers are family members, relatives, friends, neighbors, or trusted individuals chosen by the person receiving care. Caregivers must meet program requirements established by MDHHS.

  • A caregiver is someone who assists an eligible Medicaid recipient with approved daily living activities and receives compensation for providing that care through Michigan's Home Help Program.   • Caregivers are paid through Michigan Medicaid-funded Home Help services. Haven Home Care assists with enrollment, documentation, payroll setup, and payment processing support to help ensure caregivers are compensated for approved services.

  • Individuals enrolled directly through Michigan's Home Help Program are paid a standard rate (set by MDHHS). However, since we are a Home Help agency provider, Haven Home Care offers competitive agency pay rates higher than that standard! Our pay rate varies by county, funding, location, and case.
